I am a writer and book reviewer, currently living in Edinburgh.
I won the inaugural Waterstones Bookseller’s Bursary for creative writing, and in 2012 I was one of eight winners of a £2000 New Writer’s Award from the Scottish Book Trust.
I was shortlisted for the Bridport Prize in 2014, and have had short stories printed in many different magazines and journals, including Causeway, New Writing Scotland, Gutter, Litro, Northwords Now, The View From Here, Spilling Ink Review and Birdville, amongst others. I have also had a story published in the InkerMen Press anthology ‘Book’, and have written a fictional response to Will Self’s ‘Walking To Hollywood’ which will be published in Verbivoracious Press’s forthcoming anthology ‘The Syllabus’. I’m also a regular book reviewer for The Herald, The List, The Scottish Review of Books and The Skinny.
I have written two novels, and later in 2015 I’ll have stories printed in Elbow Room and Interzone, and as part of Galley Beggar Press‘s ‘Singles Club’ list.
